The singer's niece Rachna had confirmed that Lata Mangeshkar was suffering from corona and said that although she had very few symptoms, she was kept in ICU as a precaution due to her age. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared photos with Lata Mangeshkar and made several tweets.

Lata Mangeshkar recorded her first song in 1942 at the age of 13. She has been involved in singing for almost 70 years, singing more than 30,000 songs in different languages. Apart from Hindi, Lata Mangeshkar also sang in Marathi and Bengali. Belonging to a family of musicians, he composed music for some films in addition to singing.

He was also called the 'Bubble of India'. Born in 1929, Lata Mangeshkar was the eldest of five siblings. His father's name was Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar, who was a musician, and it was from him that Lata Mangeshkar received his early education in music.

Lata Mangeshkar was 13 years old when her father passed away and at that age Lata Mangeshkar started singing. In 1945, Lata Mangeshkar sang songs from the movie 'Mahal' which became super hit. Madhu Bala had acted in it.
